We will put an emphasis on getting you up to speed as quickly as possible so that you are comfortable with spoken Chinese right from the start.

We will of course compliment this with making it as easy as possible to comprehend the written language. As a free tip, the book we recommend and will use to make this easy is Learning Chinese Characters by Alison and Laurence Mathews.  This book helps you learn the meanings and pronunciations of the 800 most common Mandarin Chinese Characters, as required by HSK level 1 -3 exams. The key principle is the use of visual imagery in a story format to help you readily associate meanings and pronunciations to the characters.
